Life Always Goes Full Circle
When I moved to Paducah in 1993, with my family’s business as a third generation store operator, Dawahare’s, The Pasta House was two doors down. I have so many fond memories at The Pasta House! My daughter, Lilly, had birthday parties 🎉there and Bob, the owner, and I have even played cards through storms at the Mall. It might just be a basic salad dressing for most, but for me it brings so many wonderful memories back. ❤️
Here at bbQ & More, we recently got in some of The Pasta House Famous Salad Dressing and Spaghetti Sauce, so I made their delicious salad🥗 and a unique pasta bake🍝 using their products. Now, you can do the same and bring the wonderful memories of The Pasta House into your own home! 🏠 You can purchase all the products that I used from my website or in store. We also made this on a live video on Facebook and Instagram. If you want to watch us talk about some new products and see exactly how I did everything, you can watch it here!
Starting with their famous salad, I used a French Bull Salad Bowl and the Prepara Salad Chopper. We are LOVING the Salad Chopper because you get to chop your lettuce right in your bowl! You do not have to worry about dragging out a cutting board or dirtying another knife because you can do it all in the bowl! Pro tip when using the Salad Dressing- store it upside down! Then you will have less work to do when you shake it to make your delicious salad.🥗 The recipe for their salad is right on the back of the bottle.
All you have to do is toss together:
1 head of torn iceberg lettuce
1/2 head romaine lettuce
1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion
1/2 cup artichoke hearts
1/4 cup diced pimentos
4-5 oz. dressing
1/2 cup grated parmigiana cheese
For the pasta bake, I used a gorgeous brownie dish from Mackenzie Childs. The best part about this dish is that I just used up what we had in the fridge! No need to make a special trip to the grocery store to find the specific ingredients that I used- use what you have! I had some pepperonis in the fridge, so I added a layer of those to the bottom of my dish along with a layer of The Pasta House sauce🥫I added a healthy amount of spaghetti sauce to some pre-boiled cheese tortellini along with some parmesan cheese. I swear something magical happens when you mix some parmesan cheese with their salad dressing and spaghetti sauce! In any bowl you like, we love Enamelware Mixing Bowls, mix together any pasta of your liking with some Pasta House sauce, parmesan cheese, and shredded cheese. Again, we were using what we had in the fridge today, so we used cheese tortellini that I boiled according to package directions. You can crumble some hamburger meat, sausage, spinach, or anything else to this dish. Have fun with it, and add to your liking!😊 Finally, add another layer of sauce to the top with some more cheese then put this in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes (covered). Then, uncover it and place it back in the oven until the cheese on the top is melted. This dish would be so perfect to prepare ahead of time, keep in the fridge, and throw it in the oven when you are ready for a delicious meal!🍴
I always find it so fascinating how life truly goes full circle! Back 31 years ago when I was two doors down from The Pasta House, I did not expect to carry their products in my store, but I am so glad we do! Life truly goes full circle🥫🥗❤️
